Cosmetic acupuncture is the only anti-aging treatment that rejuvenates the face and neck AND treats underlying imbalances in the body that contribute to aging.  By healing from the inside and outside, you’ll get a natural facelift and look younger longer.

Cosmetic acupuncture helps with:

Benefits include:

As we correct underlying imbalances, patients also notice improvements in their overall health:

Here’s how it works:

During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin and do a full health assessment to identify underlying imbalances that can be contributing to aging. Your cosmetic acupuncture specialist will then make recommendations for you and schedule your treatment sessions.

At each cosmetic acupuncture session, we insert very small needles into the skin on your face and/or neck. These needles create gentle micro-trauma to the skin and the body responds by sending blood to the area and rebuilding the deeper layers of your skin. As your skin regenerates it creates new collagen and elastin that’s firmer and smoother. Collagen and elastin take 5 weeks to rebuild and set – so our protocol calls for 10 treatments to be done within 5 weeks. It’s that fast!

Since we also work on underlying imbalances, we do acupuncture on your whole body. We may also suggest dietary changes or herbs to get the most benefit from your treatments.

Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture Q & A

Q: How long will the benefits last?

A: Most patients report benefits for up to 5 years, then choose to do the protocol again for a “refresher”.

Q: How often do I come in for treatments?

A: The protocol calls for 2 treatments per week for 5 weeks – a total of only 10 treatments! Then people often choose to come for maintenance treatments once a month as needed.

Q: What’s the cost?

A: The cost varies by practitioner and starts at $1200 for the entire package (or $120 per treatment). Herbal supplements and facial products, if used, are a nominal cost.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: Most patients report little to no pain at all.

Q: What results will I get?

A: Our patients report a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, sagging, age spots, acne and more! Plus they tell us they sleep better, have more energy, and a better digestion. We’ll take before and after pictures for you so you can see for yourself!

Q: Am I too old/young?

A: Women and men in the mid-30s can reduce their first signs of aging and maintain their youthful skin for longer than if they did nothing. In your 40s, 50s, 60s, or 70s patients report looking up to 10 years younger.

Q: Who should not have cosmetic acupuncture?

A: Cosmetic Acupuncture is contraindicated for some pituitary disorders, heart disorders, uncontrolled high blood pressure, individuals with pacemakers, bleeding or bruising disorders, and for those who currently suffer from migraine headaches. Cosmetic Acupuncture should not be performed during pregnancy, during an allergic reaction or during an acute herpes outbreak. We’ll evaluate all of this during your initial consultation.

Q: Are there side effects/risks?

A: Side effects are minimal. Occasionally there may be light bleeding or bruising after a needle is removed.

Q: Does it really work?

A: See for yourself! Here are some before and after pictures of other Healing InSight patients:

Puffy eyes and dark circle be gone!

Q: How long has cosmetic acupuncture been around?

A: Cosmetic Acupuncture has been performed for thousands of years in China. As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD) Cosmetic Acupuncture was performed on the Empress and Emperor’s concubines. For centuries, the Chinese have known that beauty radiates from the inside out. If the internal body is nourished and the energy and blood are flowing smoothly, the external body will reveal this radiance.

Q: Is there any research?

A: A study in 1996 in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Cosmetic Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment. The effects included: the skin becoming delicate and fair, improvement of the elasticity of facial muscles and leveling of wrinkles, and overall rejuvenation.

Q: What system do you use?

A: We use Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture, a holistic protocol that was featured in Oprah Magazine, The New York Times, and USA Today.

Q: When is a good time to get cosmetic acupuncture done?

A: Anytime you’re ready to look younger! Popular times are before weddings (brides, bridesmaids, and mothers of the bride), graduations, family reunions, and high school reunions. But many women come in just because they don’t want to stare at their wrinkles/redness/drooping eyelids one more day.
