“The mission of Healing InSight is to use Traditional Chinese Medicine to provide the highest quality care with the longest-lasting results. Our practitioners are hand-chosen for their flair for combining acupuncture, herbs, food therapy, and health coaching to personalize every treatment and address the nuances of each person’s health.”–Senia Tuominen, LAc

Senia Mae, owner of Healing InSight, is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, licensed acupuncturist and certified herbalist. She founded Healing InSight in 2007 to provide the highest quality Traditional Chinese Medicine care with the longest-lasting results.

Senia Mae is a local Holistic Health Expert with regular appearances on Twin Cities Live and feature articles in the Pioneer Press, Star Tribune, and Minnesota Monthly. She loves taking the woo-woo factor out of acupuncture and making it approachable for everyday people, as well as sharing holistic remedies to take the guesswork out of self-care. She has had television guest appearances on KARE11, WCCO and Fox 9, and Healing Arts 101 and radio appearances on FM107 and the Hope, Healing, and Well-Being radio show.

Senia Mae excels at treating complicated cases, stress and anxiety, cosmetic anti-aging, and digestive diseases, including irritable bowel syndrome, GERD, colitis, and inflammatory bowel disease. She enjoys learning and every year completes far more graduate studies than her licensure requires. She is one of only four certified Preferred Providers for Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture in Minnesota and also trained at the largest Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital in the world in Tianjin, China. She’s a member of the Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Association of Minnesota, board member of the Grand Avenue Business Association, and member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

Senia Mae’s previous clinic won the Best Place for Holistic Health Care by the Women’s Press, before opening her aqua-infused, sunny clinic on Grand Avenue. She is licensed in acupuncture by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and is a nationally board-certified herbalist. She holds a Diplomate in Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture from National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University, where she graduated summa cum laude. Prior to founding Healing InSight, Senia was a biomedical engineer and graduated from the University of Minnesota summa cum laude. Senia was also credentialed at Woodwinds Hospital.

When she’s not coaching her patients through their health challenges or dreaming up the next television segment, Senia can be found training for her next cycling trip to the French Alps with her husband, decorating her Victorian house in St. Paul, eating really good food, or wrangling her son Vincent away from their three cats.
